Inventory Accountant will be responsible for Inventory accounting and reporting. They will be involved in the month, quarter and year-end close processes including but not limited to the analysis of Inventory and directly associated costs and reporting deliverables. They will have the opportunity to work with our Accounting and Finance counterparts to help ensure that all financial statements are in accordance with US GAAP and to provide accounting support, where needed. This role will also work closely with other internal client’s divisions, including Finance, Legal, Sales, Treasury, and Tax.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Ensure Inventory accounting and reporting is in compliance with US GAAP and clint’s Accounting Policy
- Reconcile inventory sub-ledgers to general ledger accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of inventory valuations and analyse variances
- Preparation of reports, presentations, and summaries for Senior Management as required and their analysis
- Liaison with internal and external auditors to support financial and SOX audits
- Develop and maintain close relationships with external auditors, management, operations team and accounting department personnel
- Assist with identifying areas for process improvement that are scalable: to increase efficiency, clean-up the books, and streamline month-end close
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, an MBA is a plus
- 2 – 4 years of Inventory accounting, with a strong foundation in Inventory accounting, with preferred knowledge in areas such as GR/IR, reconciliations, E&O, WIP etc.
- Experience with SOX compliance preferred
- Experience in Media, Broadband, Telecommunications or Software Industries Highly preferred
- Previous experience with major accounting software experience such as Oracle, Salesforce, JD Edwards, MS Dynamics SL, MS Dynamics GP, Citrix, PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.
- Experience with inventory and/or equipment cost of sales
Skills:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of standard procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with all levels of Management
- Excellent ability to interact professionally and effectively with internal and external customers in person and over the phone
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while paying attention to detail.
- Ability to gather and interpret data, compile information and prepare reports
- Solid business background including knowledge of best practices and procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Critical thinking, process improvements.
- Must be a self-starter
